I'm happy to announce that I am changing the format and content of this blog slightly. Hopefully all of the changes will be easy to swallow and will make this blog more interesting and useful for readers, and more rewarding for me.
First of all, I've changed the name to "Daniel's World of Coffee," which is a minor change. I'll also be rotating the graphics at the top of the page to keep things looking fresh.
More importantly, I'll be moving to a five-day-a-week format. Each weekday morning, you can expect a new post about the world of great coffee. I may occasionally post multiple posts on a day, if there's a lot of news to cover, as well as occasionally posting on the weekends if I just can't wait for Monday. Also, when I'm in places where internet access is spotty or non-existent, things might slow down slightly, though I plan to schedule posts to appear every day while I am gone. For those of you who check your RSS reader or bookmarks every morning, you can look forward to fresh content five days a week.
Posts will be organized by categories. I'm sure I will come up with new categories as time goes on, but for now you can expect articles and comments about specific coffees, coffee origins, coffee people and personalities, coffee shops, coffee producing countries and regions, coffee equipment, coffee science, and cultural developments concerning coffee. Those of you who have read this blog for a while or will not be surprised when I say also that I won't be able to resist posting mini-essays of my opinions on all of the above and more.
Also, I will be adding a sidebar that tracks all the coffee events I host or am associated with. I've received many requests for a New York Coffee Society homepage, and in the past I have always just referred people to this blog. I'm still not starting a specific NYCS page, but I'll be refocusing efforts to make this blog a one-stop resource for Coffee Society events, both here in New York and in other locations where I may happen to travel. Expect the sidebar within a week.
I hope everyone enjoys the new format. I know I have had a lot of fun blogging on "Daniel's Coffee Blog" over the last few years, on Typepad and on Wordpress. I look forward to more discussion and more discoveries with the new "Daniel's World of Coffee."
As always, please feel free to drop me a line in the comments section, or to email me at [email protected].
